Kokanee Shoot

May 18th, 2009

Couple weeks ago Stu and Shin did a quick 2 day Kokanee shoot in between a couple other jobs they were working on. It was a quick POV shoot using this newer style HD 2K camera. Pretty interesting as Shin was doing the stunts both mountain biking and snowboarding. They had this camera rigged up on a helmet which had to be hard wired into a laptop which was in a backpack. Needless to say it was a technical hassle but the shots looked great. We had a great team to make it happen as it was a quick run and gun type of shoot but with guys like “grip wizard” John Dryden and “man of all talents” Stan Goetz we had it dialed. The director was Chris Woods who was a pleasure to work with both professional and easy going, we got er’ done!!

They finished the shoot down in Uruguay after they finished with us so I’m looking forward to the beach party scenes!!
Oh yeah notice the bicycle tubes to stabilize Shin’s neck for this heavy helmet rig. Apparently he’s still hurting from the weight of that thing. More Kokanee pics here

TimberLand Clothing Still Photo Shoot

May 18th, 2009

May has been a busy month for us at WCP. We’ve been working separately on a couple shoots. Shin did a Timberland clothing still photo shoot and worked with a Vancouver based company “Means of Production”. We were on location up Brohm Ridge, 1 hour north of Vancouver, BC. They wanted snow and beautiful vistas but as you see it was dumping. They loved it anyhow. Throw in a couple of Brazilian models, some snowmobiles and a digital Hasselblad and you’ve got a successful shoot.

Warren Miller Shoot on Whistler Mountain

May 18th, 2009

Warren Miller Job on Whistler Mountain May 13-14 2009. Don’t know what to say about this one, other than we had 40 extras, 60 crew, executives from 3 countries, helicopters, 2 snowcats, sleds, the cineflex and pyrotechnics. We had the mountain all to ourselves. They even opened the lifts right from Creekside for us.

A little job I did last week

April 7th, 2009

Last week I had the pleasure of guiding and organizing this Oakley/Burton/Friday productions shoot. Legendary Terje Haakonsen and Amazing Jake Bauvelt and a camera crew hung out in the Sea to Sky area and we filmed and found a whole new bunch of mountains and terrain that very few people have ridden if any at all. We had some great weather and good snow conditions and we pretty well nailed it down. Look for some of this in Friday Productions “Snowboard Diaries” a documentary series based on this years athlete Eero Ettala and friends.

Our man Dano Pendygrasse needs your help!

March 26th, 2009

Right after a successful photo exhibit at Blake Jorgenson’s gallery this past Saturday Dano had his Red Dodge Ram truck with his snowmobile stolen outside his apartment across from Science World in downtown Vancouver. His plate number is 8947EK so keep your eyes out. I’m sure we’d put up a reward for its recovery. We need him out there documenting!!

North Face shoot

March 26th, 2009

We got a call from photographer Mark Gallup about needing a filmer for a North Face shoot here in Whistler. Stu got to hang out with most of their top athletes documenting their day and doing some personal interviews for their website. Topped with some good snow and sunshine he pretty well killed it!
