One of the great things about running a production company is all the great people you meet and collaborate with.Andrew really is in a league of his own, not only can he shred big mountains but he is pretty handy on the other side of the camera as well. He just sent us a little vid he made for a t-shirt collaboration he is doing with WESC.

Fashion T.V. with Whistler Creek Productions
November 27th, 2011
Last year we put together a shoot on the glacier and in the forest for Ransom by Adidas. Mary Kitchen from Fashion Television came along on the shoots to see what it was all about. She was a little out of her element but in the end I think she really enjoyed herself.

Our Own Shin Campos Featured in a Special Web Series
October 5th, 2011
WCP co-founder Shin Campos was recently featured in the Living Legends of Canadian Snowboarding web series at Push.ca. Pro since 1993, Shin’s snowboarding has long been considered to embody the purest British Columbia Freeriding style. Whether dropping big cliffs into old growth coastal rainforest or bombing down high alpine chutes with big-consequence exposure Shin is recognized by his peers for always staying calm, focused and calculated. Not to mention progressive and inspiring– every time a kid moves to Whistler or buys a snowmobile it’s a good bet he’s hoping to one day be able to rip as hard as Shin.
Having traveled the world as one of snowboarding’s biggest icons, Shin says it’s always nice to receive recognition but that he’s not about to start slacking or let his riding go “beer-league.” Instead he gets into the hills as much as possible and, as a producer with WCP, is really enjoying telling the stories of snowboarding and helping others discover the joys of the sport and the outdoors in general. Marc Jacobs for Native commercial spot
September 7th, 2011
We recently produced a viral commercial for our Friends at Native Shoes to launch the “Jimmy” collabo boot with high fashion icon Marc Jacobs. Last season’s huge snowfall allowed us to shoot these “winter” scenes in early August– just one of the advantages of knowing your zone and having the skills and equipment to get there. Directed by Native’s Corey Adams (Machotaildrop and Harvey Spannos) and DP’d by WCP’s own Gabe Langlois (The Art of Flight) this project was the perfect mix of good, fun times on the mountain while still getting all the shots the client needed. And all that snow got us kind of stoked to see if this upcoming winter can deliver like last year’s did. Here it is enjoy….

OPERATION GOLDEN EAGLE ONLINE PREMIER
April 30th, 2011
Last summer we got a bunch of friends together to film something other than action sports. We were contacted by Lukas Huffman to help him produce a script he wrote. He also wrote this blurb which pretty sums it all up: Whistler Creek Productions is proud to announce the online premier of Lukas Huffman’s short action film OPERATION GOLDEN EAGLE. The film tells the story of two young lovers on the run from the cops. They dream of busting out of their small town and starting a new life, but reality gets in the way.
The film is just off the festival circuit where it screened in New York City and won the Sir Edmund Hillary award at the Mountain Film Festival in Mammoth California.
Production of the film took place in and around Whistler, BC in the summer of 2010. Under the bold supervision of Stuart Andrews and Shin Campos. The set was littered with ex-professional snowboarders with Lukas at the helm, Shin as a line producer, Sean Kearns as a second unit cinematographer, and Derek Heidt as a camera assistant. The film was shot by veteran action sports cinematographer Christian Begin, with assistance from Gabe Langlois.
The film stars Jenna Romanin (of the series “16 Wishes” and “Supernatural”) and Matt Friesen. Sit back, crack a cold one and enjoy!

High Five
March 30th, 2011
In the fall we had a meeting with our good friends at Whistler Blackcomb. We thought we were in trouble, but actually they had a pretty cool concept for web video content in 2011 and wanted us to be a part of it. They enlisted a bunch of the local film crews to each produce a video based on one word. That is all the creative they supplied us with. Other than a few classic corporate requirements
and a tight budget we were free to do what we wanted.
Our word was Celebration.
We wanted to show that Whistler offer’s up great times to people of all ages. To do this we decided to shoot a POV based short where the point of view is swapped person to person each time they high fived. This is how it turned out:

Artist Profile: Brian Hockenstein
February 28th, 2011
Brian has been on our photographers roster since we launched our site but recently has been double dipping as a cinematographer as that’s actually how he started out. Now with the DSLR cameras and ever changing technology he’s doing it all and from the look of his most recent reel its working out nicely. He’s young, keen and knows a lot of the technical side of new camera technology.
We hope you enjoy a little taste of his talents:

Sweet Slideshow by Mark Gribbon
February 15th, 2011
Mark has always been one of the team members closest to the center of the wheel if you know what we mean. We are hoping to have him take over our stock photo site pretty soon too. For now enjoy a beautiful slideshow set to a cozy chamomile soundtrack:

Artist Profile: Rod Bailey
January 29th, 2011
Unlike most of our team Rod is more urban than alpine. Hailing from Winnipeg and keeping his feet firmly planted in the hip hop scene there, Rod is involved in very different projects than everyone else on the roster and we like it that way. Rod’s use of simplicity to make the everyday interesting is a skill that most artists wish they could wield as easily. Sit back, relax and check out some of Rod’s latest feats:
