Bio

Originally from Montreal, Eric Berger moved to Whistler in 1986 after studying photography at the CEGEP du Vieux Montreal and a three year stint working in a commercial studio.

It was in Whistler that Eric developed his skills as an action sports photographer, shooting video for the resort and photography of various racing events. In the summers he developed a successful photography program for a local rafting company.

In 1991, Eric was picked up by Transworld Snowboarding magazine as a Senior Contributing Photographer. During the next ten years he traveled the globe in search of exotic snowboard locations to document for editorial features. In addition, Eric worked with numerous product manufacturers providing images for marketing purposes.

In 1997 Eric began working as a marketing photographer for Whistler Blackcomb resort and has been on contract since then. Over the years he has diversified his efforts, shooting a variety of projects and contributing images to countless publications and clients worldwide. He has established himself as one of the leading ski and snowboard photographers in the world. His ability to work in a big mountain environment under difficult conditions combined with his visual merging of high-risk sport alpine topography and evocative composition have given him a signature look and international respect.

His knowledge of mountain environments and ability to organize projects, scout locations, and coordinate aerial shoots are additional assets he brings to any job.
